The International
Organization of Marketing Professors Names Meg
Blair AMS Distinguished Marketer of the Year
Tampa, FL — Margaret (Meg) Henderson Blair,
D. Sc., President & CEO of ARSgroup,
has been
named AMS Distinguished
Practitioner of the Year by the Academy of Marketing
Science. The Academy is a scholarly association
of 1500 members founded in 1971 that sponsors
a World Marketing Congress as well as four additional
conferences each year. With this award, The AMS
honors a distinguished marketer who has demonstrated
accomplishments through both actions and statements,
and who has at all times acted with integrity
and high ethical standards.
The honor is awarded by the Board of Governors and is based on discriminating criteria that call for a significant contribution to the marketing discipline. Previous winners include Ross H. Roberts (Ford Motor Corporation) and J. Jeffrey Campbell (Burger King Corporation). The Academy describes Blair's accomplishments in this way:
"Meg's contribution is not limited to
merely building a successful marketing research
business
and making her clients more effective. Rather,
Meg has made a significant commitment to
building knowledge. Her firm maintains one
of the great
archives of empirical findings on television
advertising."
"Meg has been an active contributor to
the activities of the Advertising Research
Foundation and has shared her knowledge, expertise
and perspective
in a variety of spoken and written venues.
She has not only been a distinguished practitioner,
she has influenced the practice of marketing
research, and marketing more generally, in
very
significant ways."
